New Details on Harper Government™’s Convicted Fraudster/Admitted Liar/Illegal Lobbyist Bruce Carson, his Alleged Fiancée-Prostitute, and Reserve Water Contracts
Canada School of Energy and Environment director Bruce Carson‘s life has gone straight downhill since I first posted about him a couple of weeks ago, pointing out that he seemed more interested in defending Conservative energy policy than actually promoting scientific research on climate change issues. Since then we’ve also discovered that he was stripped of his legal license for fraud, met with industry insiders to downplay the tarsands, allegedly lobbied the Minister of Indian Affairs on behalf of a water filtration company (H20 Pros), and then, according to his own account, lied to his employers at the company about doing the lobbying when he actually wasn’t. Thanks to the fantastic work of APTN, even seedier details have now emerged.
Carson has a fiancée, Michele McPherson, who is also a prostitute, or was, going by the name of Leanna VIP. They have a large house outside Ottawa, a black Mercedes car that she drives — and a very handsome contract with H20 Pros, the company Carson is accused of illegally lobbying for. McPherson signed, and Carson witnessed, a contract which gave her 20% of the revenue of that company on the First Nation reserve contracts which her boyfriend was helping arrange.
The plan involved setting up a subsidiary front company, H2O Global Group, for which McPherson would act as a sales agent.
McPherson no longer appears to be working as an escort — in fact, her LeannaVIP.com website still exists but won’t allow public access. However, her various posts on a Toronto escort online forum declared that she was “a first class service provider,” and “super friendly and accomadating [sic] girl who loves to please.” She promised “no disappointments here guys, so treat yourself.” And she was only 20 years old, which means she wasn’t even born yet when Carson was first convicted for fraud.
Update: I’m having a little trouble with the Carson-prostitute connection reported on by APTN. It’s not that it’s impossible — I assume they wouldn’t make that sort of allegation if they didn’t have reason to believe it. But the listed agent at H2O Global Group is Christine McPherson. She just returned from doing several years of human resources work in Qatar. So that doesn’t match up with the chronology in the APTN story. Perhaps this is the mother of “Leanne VIP”?

Update 4: Now that the media has captured the story, information establishing Leanne VIP’s “services” as an escort has been removed out of politeness. However, the following links will be kept here as evidence: 1, 2, 3. I want to emphasize that this story does not need to be investigated further on that particular angle. The focus should remain on the possibly corrupt dealings involving Carson, McPherson, and H2O Pros, not on someone’s past as a sex worker.

A curious aspect of this case remains undiscussed by media. In the incriminating email, Carson explicitly states that he learned of the appointment of the new Indian Affairs minister directly from the prime minister. Carson now says he lied about that. Two questions naturally follow: why would he have lied about that, and, if he was lying, who was the source of the information, about which only a very few of Harper’s intimates would have known?
My guess is he really did hear it from Harper and is now protecting his boss.

I suspect you are very correct. Or, put another way, we are (yet again) hearing that a Conservative aide did something without the knowledge or approval of his former superior. It’s getting to be quite repetitive.

What you say about exploitation rings true and is very sad. I too would be very happy to know that a young woman has been able to escape that tragic cycle. However, I am also sorry that she is now caught up in another scandal of another sort.
As for Bruce, well, I don’t know him personally. But being convicted of fraud, accused of illegally lobbying, and now accused of being a fiance to a 20 year old girl, well… you can see why I would be judgemental from that.
I have no intention of further pursuing either McPherson on this story, unless it seems relevant. I hope the rest of the media do likewise. But as for Bruce’s and Michele’s connection with H2O Global, the document quotations from APTN do seem pretty specific. Are you saying they are all forgeries?

Ah, I see. I am not sure who legal action is being taken against but if you have a specific complaint about material on this site it should be directed to site email, where a more private conversation can be held.
In any case, even if I did moderate comments before they went up, I can hardly ensure that everyone is who they say they are. Most people use pseudonyms, and the few who don’t, I can scarcely demand that they send me photo ID before posting. The best I can do, and the most I will do, is remove comments about which there are complaints.

If anyone has made comments on this site suggesting they are me or otherwise, this is simply not true or factual. I would suggest that anyone interested in this story now watch for facts going forward. The secret box dropped off to Kenneth Jackson and other information will soon be seen by the public as being stolen information. Even the bank receipt for the valentines dinner is not factual. We are confident the RCMP and Police will expose the sources who have acted criminally.

I will eagerly await facts going forward and will be pleased if anyone who is actually innocent is thus exonerated. Although I must say, it seems to me that material can be objected to on the grounds that it is stolen or that it is forged, but one given document wouldn’t normally be both.

Paul, I believe my comments on the questionable water issues are a matter of record. As is my point that Bruce Carson did more than provide advice. Beyond that I am prepared to agree that the details MAY have been exaggerated in the media. This doesn’t change my opinion about Carson, and I’m more interested in Carson than in H2O Group.

Paul it is unforntuate you feel the way you do. Perhaps you believe everything you read. Of course Water Group would issue a statement and they did. We have a contract with them and we are still in communication. Our work is not a scam as I would not be involved in it if it was. I am a fraud and a liar – now how would you know that. I have done some wonderful work in my life. I just returned from Qatar where I worked in Human Rights and Human Resources. 80 million dollars means nothing to me whatsoever. The enjoyment and rewards of working with people means everything to me. Come visit us in Qatar one day where everyday Canadians like me are making a difference in underdeveloped nations. Journalism is so supposed to be about truth and this author of this blog is doing a great job. As for the Carson aspect stay tuned to the news as the truth is not far away from coming out now.

As much as I am hurt by those comments please leave them right where they are. They prove libel defamation. Paul Smith is in fact the person that delivered the box to Kenneth Jackson and the person under investigation by High Tech Crimes at Ottawa Police. Leave those comments please because we are serving Paul Smith (names we really know and soon to be named in public via this law suit) with civil and criminal defamation suits this week and yes APTN also..
