Minister of Adultery Decides to Waste More Taxpayer Resources
Update: Vic says we should respect his privacy. Sorry, Minister Snoops-a-lot. If you thought privacy was remotely important, you shouldn’t have introduced your Big Brother bill.
Honestly, this sort of complete and utter bullshit makes one wonder why the government bothers having press secretaries at all.
I do hope that Vic Toews recovers from whatever ails him, if only because he has yet to receive his well-deserved punishment at the ballot box for odiously asking the Speaker to hold anyone who writes to his office complaining about legislation in contempt of Parliament. But this is obviously an utter lie, and the fact that it is about such a personal and non-political issue doesn’t change that fact:
Public Safety Minister Vic Toews was rushed to hospital from Parliament Hill by ambulance…
Mike Patton, a spokesman for Mr. Toews, said… that the minister has been battling a seasonal flu for the past number of weeks. “As a precaution, he was taken to the hospital today for observation.”
What kind of person calls 911 for an ambulance because they’ve had the flu for a while and they thought maybe they should see a doctor?
In other news, Toews will be undergoing a CT scan, a PET scan, an MRI, neck and abdominal ultrasounds, blood and urine tests, and a lumbar puncture, because he felt unusually fatigued last night and wants to rule out cancer.

I would think a thorough STD scan would be a “no brainer” and I imagine his wife, mistresses and their………ya know, would agree!

awww…kootcoot beat me to the STD thing. I thought the same thing about the audacity of the man demanding privacy. Minister of Adultery. Love it. This is awful. I don’t like saying hateful things but this bunch really, really needs to be disrespected.

I would have less of a problem with this if it was an urgent medical problem. But according to the government, he feels entitled to an ambulance trip simply in order to get his weeks-long mild bout of flu checked out.

Leave Mr Toews alone, respect his medical concerns & privacy.. Stay calm.. remember the golden rule.. The bill he presented has been blown up.. so lend your concerns to Canadians in Fort Chipewayn, downstream of the tar sands.
Going after Toews or Del Mastro is chasing ‘bait’ ie a false scent.. a ‘leadaway’ or in the olde English vernacular, a ‘red herring’ .. Look instead to the less obvious, the most dangerous .. and, when you see it or find it.. let others know.

Today, I’ll look in the mainstream media and note anything that matches the calibre of, or adds to Sixth Estate’s ‘advance’ reportage regarding the Auditor General and the Minister of Defense.
