Canadian Climate Survey: Gander Warms 0.9˚C Since 1961-1990
The Canadian Climate Survey is tracking historical and average temperatures in cities and towns across the country, as part of an effort to put something of a local face on global climate change.

Temperature Extremes: Over the period since 1938, 5 of Gander’s 10 hottest years have occurred in the two decades since 1990. In addition, 3 of its 10 coldest years happened in the same timespan but those years were 1991-1993.
Long-Term Consequences: Since the 1980s, the town has been warming at the rate of 0.45 ˚C per decade. If the rate of warming does not change, this would mean a temperature rise of 4.5 ˚C over the coming century.
