Climate Change
The Canadian Climate Survey is a lengthy series of posts on climate change in regions, cities, and towns across Canada. Its purpose is to try and put a local face on what can often be a highly abstract and large-scale phenomenon. This website is not in the business of projections; I am not a climate scientist, and if what you see intrigues or disturbs you, I encourage you to do further reading on the subject of climate change. This project uses Environment Canada’s database of historical climate records to produce its charts.
Once enough cities have been inputted (a process for which volunteers are actively encouraged to contribute work on records in their own home cities, or anywhere else that strikes their fancy), this page will track several key statistics regarding major temperature records.
In the meantime, records for individual cities can be found on their own pages, sorted by province:
- British Columbia
- Alberta
- Saskatchewan
- Manitoba
- Ontario
- Quebec
- New Brunswick
- Nova Scotia
- Prince Edward Island
- Newfoundland and Labrador
- Yukon Territory
- Northwest Territories
- Nunavut
