Globe and Mail Has No Right to be Disappointed on Abdelrazik File

Today, the Globe and Mail is upset that the Harper regime failed to help Canadian citizen Abousfian Abdelrazik get off the UN blacklist that prevents him from travelling, holding a job, or having a bank account. Well, I’m not happy either. You may recall that Abdelrazik is the man who was stranded in the Sudan when he was arrested by the Sudanese secret police, collaborating with CSIS and presumably with the American CIA. Eventually Abdelrazik was proven innocent and released, but the Canadian government refused to allow him to re-enter Canada, citing the blacklist, which in their opinion overrode every Canadian’s constitutional right to enter Canada.
